NASAC has been able to (and will) organize Scientific Conferences on:
- HIV/AIDS, its implication on human development in the continent and the critical issue in its control – Abuja, Nigeria held on 21-23 September 2004
- ENERGY SITUATION IN AFRICA: What contributions can African Scientists and Engineers make towards resolving the energy issues in the continent? - Nairobi, Kenya held on 12-15 December 2005
- The next Scientific Conference is planned for 22-25 February 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya on the theme “Climate change and food security”.
NASAC has been able to develop and circulate widely four joint statements:
- Building science, technology and innovation capacities in Africa – presented to the meeting of Ministers of S&T (November 2006) and the subsequent Summit of the Heads of States and Governments at the AU meeting in January 2007 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia;
- Sustainability, energy efficiency and climate change, submitted to the G8-Summit in Heilingendamm, Germany in June 2007;
- The role of science, technology and innovation in promoting global development, presented to the G8-Summit in Hokkaido, Japan, 7-9 July 2008; and
- Brain drain in Africa, submitted to the heads of state and government attending the G8+5 Summit in Italy in July 2009.
